Diving Standards

Diving standards can be applied for a region, a national territory and its jurisdictional waters. In general, there are diving standards for commercial diving, for recreational diving and for public safety diving. Also in some countries, there are regulations for scientific and archaeological diving.

The IDSSC has evaluated and accepted the most up-to-date diving standards and regulations created by the best organizations in the world and adopted by different international companies.

In many cases, the commission has added the necessary criteria to adapt the standards to the most demanding diving conditions, according to the reality of certain regions.

In all cases, the accepted diving standards and procedures will be detailed, with the relevant governmental body or institution that has formulated them, as well as the standards added by the IDSSC where appropriate.
